Teen Bicyclist Struck Dead In NE Philadelphia: Police

A teenager is dead after being hit by a car while riding his bike in Philadelphia, police told Daily Voice.

It happened around 4:15 a.m. on Friday, July 28, the department said. 

The victim, an unnamed 18-year-old man, was struck at the intersection of Woodhaven Road and Byberry Road in the Northeast, police said. He was rushed to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead just before 5 a.m., they added. 

The driver fled the scene and police did not provide a vehicle description. The crash remains under investigation by detectives.
